I've had really good luck with the IBM series. the T61 were really good when I got it. If you want to pay the premium you can get a ZaReason or System76 though you'll definitely pay more for what you get. I recently got a ZaReason and aside from a minor blonde moment on my part it worked very well out of the box. Also.. I've never gotten good advice out of someone at Best Buy.
