	I've had good luck with Dell refurbished LCDs. 22-24" seems to be the 
sweet spot there and I'd camp their delloutlet Twitter account for an 
additional 10% off when they offer it. At the 27" and sub $300 level the 
Asus monitors are too blue and no amount of color syncing would fix it. 
The 27" Samsung's are the price and the color is better. My favorite 
over the last year has been the I-Inc iH-282HPB 28" which I was getting 
for $275 shipped. Color was good though a little muted out of the box. 
27.5" and a full 1920 x 1200. None of that 1080p nonsense. I spend most 
of my time in the terminal and having 80 vertical lines in vim is very nice.
	Almost every LCD still comes with VGA which is pretty useful especially 
if you have a lot of older gear. The I-inc is just VGA and 2x HDMI with 
no DVI though the Asus and Samsung have all three. The Mac laptops have 
weird issues with the HDMI on all the monitors and we had to ship the 
HDMI to mini display cables back and use DVI to mini display adapters.
	In the realm of really nice and also expensive monitors the Apple 27" 
is a great value for $1000. It's a huge 2500x1440 (or whatever 1440p 
works out to). Dell and HP have some monitors about that size and price, 
but the Apple display is a much better picture right now. Unfortunately 
you'd need to deal with the whole Thuderbolt/minidislay/whatever your 
computer supports issues.
