I know you get adventurous at times. Have you considered using IPP (internet 
printing protocol) I've used it to print directly from win2k boxes to a cups 
server on a linux box without SAMBA. I'm sure xp has the same capacity to use 
IPP and I would expect that any recent OS from Apple would too. IPP is 
supposed to be a new (well maybe not anymore) standard for networked printing 
and not OS dependent.

Also have you considered a printserver connected to your lan?...... but watch 
out for the AC/DC adapter :^) I'm thinking of getting a printserver to avoid 
having to have a PC up just to prove printshares although I'm also 
considering the cheaper alternative of a usb card a and dirty hack of my 
IPCop box to run a CUPS server.

BTW do you use grub or lilo to boot that dual boot into xp. I'd like to have 
access to xp at home for the odd hardware config etc. I installed xp over 
win2k and lost capacity to boot into xp from lilo when I re-ran /sbin/lilo. 
Everything I've googled seems to indicate its either a job for grub or to 
boot linux via xp and not the other way around with lilo which I prefer.
