faubackup onto external hard drive

Hi All,

I am using faubackup to backup to an external hard drive, but the second
backup fails to hardlink files that are the same as in the first backup.

I am using Debian r4 with a kernel  and modules from the RIP rescue CD.

I switch on the external USB hard disk
and get

which I can then m90unt by

mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1

Can someone tell me if it is the external hard drive's driver that are
installed or in faubackup itself?
