I might have said "watching a dvd", as I haven't got a TV card analogue
or digital. :-(

That's apparently similar to what mplex does, I mainly went looking in
that direction to see if mplex was a suitable tool that I could use to
repair an mpeg2 stream I have, but it turned out not.
