Thanks, Bob, Holden and Andrew. The deed is done; I now have an abundant
supply of space for all my experiments with music and video files.

Andrew, qtparted looks great but I found it easier to use parted from
the command line. Probably gives an indication of the extent to which I
have become a cave dweller.
