If you install the Windows codecs, mplayer plays it fine, and xine seems to work well too. In fact, my Linux box often plays files that the Windows boxes can't! :-) Of the other alternatives, I hate Quicktime and Real Media with a passion, due to the annoyware players that Apple and Real provide.
