Well actually, I'm getting to the point of preferring Windows 
Media.  If you install the Windows codecs, mplayer plays it fine, and 
xine seems to work well too.  In fact, my Linux box often plays files 
that the Windows boxes can't! :-)

Of the other alternatives, I hate Quicktime and Real Media with a 
passion, due to the annoyware players that Apple and Real 
provide.  The only other video format I like is MPEG.
