Anyhow, I have been unable to resist tinkering with many Linux distros, and the one I have found easiest for retrieval purposes is "Chubby Puppy Linux". Even without installing it (booting from your "Live CD"), your drives show up nicely in "drives"/Media Tool. You can just "click on" "mount" on your hda icon line to access your hard drive files, open your USB device in the same way, and then "drag" files into the latter. > Cheers > "septus" (aka Eric) > Eric. The issue is though that the hd's partition table will not contain the partition information. You could try creating a reiserfs partition with the same geometry as before and not formating it... _________________________________________ > > Melbourne Linux Users Group (Australia) > > Edit your settings: http://lists.mlug.org.au > > > > _______________________________________________ > Melbourne Linux Users Group (Australia) > Edit your settings: http://lists.mlug.org.au > -- Administrator of the Melbourne Linux User Group If you want a GMAIL invite, please please please take one off my hands Theatrical Sound and Lighting designer/Engineer
