Buring dual-layer DVDs

Anybody on the list had experience burning dual-layer DVDs? If so,
what did you use?

I've been using ffmpeg, dvdauthor and growisofs but find that I can only
burn standard DVDs with these; there are no switches to cope with the
dual-layer ones.

Any suggestions gladly accepted.
