I have noticed the same on the two other lists I'm subscribed to. One is 
distro specific and always seems to quite down just before the next release.

This and another have been quiet for awhile and I sometimes wonder if this is 
an indication of linux getting better out of the box or that there are no new 
problems which might indicate a more experienced user base and/or less takeup 
by noobs.
