It probably would be easier to fish for images out of a webcam.  Issue
68 of Linux magazine had a tutorial on this.  The scripts for it were
posted here:
http://www.linux-magazine.com/Magazine/Downloads/68/Perl

Unfortunately they only make issues that are older than 5 months fully
available as PDF's and that tute is not one of the partially available
ones.
