If I own a book, I believe I have the legal right to scan it, OCR it, and create an electronic copy of the text. At least, that's what Google Books says: http://books.google.com/googlebooks/library.html (I realize their argument is actually a little different) If this is true, are there any pay services that will do this for me? EG, I mail them books and they mail back a CD w/ the "ripped" text? -- We're just a Bunch Of Regular Guys, a collective group that's trying to understand and assimilate technology. We feel that resistance to new ideas and technology is unwise and ultimately futile. _______________________________________________ NMLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.b9.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nmlug
