yes, the sipuras are rock solid and very well documented,

I also used about 20 aastras at a commercial location and were
glitchless,
and you can always add a cheapo grandstream
check voipsupply.com,
if you call them they may have good deals on returned stocks,

iax trunking is for when you need bundle several channels into one
socket to save bandwidth,
it saves a lot if you are using many channels simultaneously to the same
termination provider,

I haven't noticed any difference using one or the other, I'll just say
sip is more 'pro' and the defacto industry standard
