Building on what is already here, not spawning new groups - Sounds like you 
might suggest we stick with Microsoft.

The ability to spawn new groups is like the ability to fork software. And the 
ability to fork software is one of the basic freedoms granted by the GPL. If you 
don't like what some software is doing, you have the freedom to change it. And 
if you don't like what some LUG is doing, you can start a new group.

If you ask me, spawning new groups fits well with the philosophy of free software.

group? And what would you like to see in a LUG?
