SLUG Meeting thiss evening (2nd may): Change of program

Hi SLUG,

Tony Green has had to change his plans for this evening and won't be
coming along to SLUG tonight. So his talk on the upcoming wrkshop will
be replaced with a screening of Revolution OS, a documentary about the
creation of Linux.

Monthly meeting: April

   When:
          Friday, May 2, 6:30pm - 9:30pm

   Note: The April monthly meeting is being held a week late, on Friday
   2nd May, as Friday April 18th was Good Friday, and Friday April 25th
   was Anzac Day.

   Where:
          UTS Broadway, Room 2.4.13.

   What:

   SLUG's monthly meeting, featuring general talks, special interest
   talks and SLUGlets.

   Open to the public and free of charge.

   This month we'll be scrreening Revolution OS in place of Tony Green's
   intended talk.  Bruce Badger will give a special interest talk on the
   Smalltalk programming language. SLUGlets topic will loosely be 'What
   SLUG can do to help newbies', featuring Mick Boda.

   This month's meeting will be in room 2.4.13 at UTS, and SLUGlets will
   be in nearby room 2.4.29. See the above link for directions and a map

   6:30pm: The Usual Suspects
          Q&A - "What has Linux done for/to me lately?" + SLUG News &
          Discussion

   7:10pm: Revolution OS

         REVOLUTION OS tells the inside story of the hackers who
         rebelled against the proprietary software model and Microsoft
         to create GNU/Linux and the Open Source movement.

   8:10: Break
   8:20pm: Split into two groups for:

          + Bruce Badger: "Smalltalk"
          + SLUGlets: quick talks and discussion of Linux and Free
            Software

   Dinner
          Dinner at Spice Boys (Indian), $20 per head.

   Bruce Badger: "Smalltalk"

   Bruce will be offering an introduction to the Smalltalk programming
   language. Smalltalk is a dynamically typed object oriented programming
   language designed at Xerox PARC during the 1970s.
   SLUGlets

   Sluglets are for people new to Linux, or who are looking for
   discussion of a milder nature than the techie talk. Feel free to come
   share your experiences with Linux, to get help, or to provide it.

   This month, SLUGlets will have a discussion on how SLUG can help
   newbies.
