Re: turning off blog comments

Think of how much more interesting this thread is going to be now that
I've moved it to slug-chat!

While we're on the subject, I'm reminded of the abortive quest a few
people I know had several years ago, before RSS had clearly taken over
the world, which was to replace blogs with vanity mailing lists. The
logic was something along the lines of the argument against web forums,
that is, we've got perfectly good[1] email clients already, why recreate
them slowly and painfully in HTML?
