No, that's basically where the entire US market is stuck right now. We're
doing better here, but Australia is not massively far ahead. Until the value
of new mobile computing platforms is demonstrated, some users will want to
stick with what they know -- a phone that actually works well as a fricking
phone, please!

What the iPhone has demonstrated is that you can deliver useful, desireable
and life-improving capabilities without sacrificing the usability of the
basic voice call function (in fact, improving it in ways that competitors
such as Palm and Blackberry haven't).

I have a Treo, which I enjoy, but mostly because I love the simplicity of
the Palm interface, and the Treo is a combination of a PDA and a phone (but
not a particularly good greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts merger).
