The Lattitude E6400 and E6500. Requires the SSD & LED backlit screen
option to meet those specs but should still come in at <$4.5K with the
two battery upgrades. The battery slice is hard to get though. It's on
their American site.

Yes, as I wrote (but you seemed to skip over)

Remember Li-on loses 20%/year of capacity regardless of use at room
temperature, if kept at 40% charge. [Keeping it at] 0% will hurt it
the worst. Take it
up to 35 degrees (those MacBookPros run hot from memory) and you'll
lose 40% total life per year. How long do you keep a laptop for?

I guess it all depends on what you consider signficant. To give you
some idea, In realistic conditions you'll lose all the advantage of
the bulkier 9cell over the 6cell battery in about a year and half.
Which means at one year you're only getting about 10% better than the
life of a new regular battery, but you're carrying around extra bulk.
