OpenOffice.org has a button on the toolbar to instantly create a PDF.
How is that difficult?

The major benefit of this approach over 'printing' to PDF is that
metadata is maintained. I can create complex documents with tags and
hyperlinks, and they all get preserved in the finished product. You'll
never get those with a print driver.

IMHO that's the biggest selling point of OpenOffice.org. PDF is the
best way to ensure that a document looks _exactly_ the same on all
computers. Word processor formats (ODT, DOC, etc.) are editing formats
and were never designed to maintain visual fidelity across systems.
Files will look and behave differently based on printer settings,
installed fonts and a myriad of other local issues.

If you insist on using a print driver instead, use PDFCreator. It's
GPL and it doesn't mangle your document with obnoxious advertising
like other PDF tools on Windows.
