You could pay homage at the HP "garage", probably find Xerox PARC, and also where SUN (Stanford University Network) started. Apple ( 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino), Cisco,3Com, Synoptics and Intel were all there as well I think. I imagine there must some sort of tour you can do (along the lines of the Beverly Hill celeb tours but for geeks!) One thing to visit when I went was a store like Fry's Electronics which sold lots of computer parts. They were certainly different from anything I'd seen when I went 15 years ago, but probably not so different from MSY or somesuch now.
