I think this is definitely an issue you should take up with both the gaining and losing service providers, particularly if it was a "fast churn" type migration, as the losing service provider would be notified of the loss. Even if it is not "fast churn", if the ADSL connection was on the same line, then the losing service provider should know their service has been terminated. You should check your contract with the losing service provider to see what notice obligations you have under that and whether they comply with applicable industry codes (eg http://www.commsalliance.com.au/Documents/consumers). It would be worth checking your contract with the gaining service provider while you are at it, and their website, regarding what representations they make about notifying the losing service provider. Ultimately the cost of pursuing them may not be worth it, but you could always refer them to the Telecommunication Industry Ombudsman if you aren't happy with their response: www.tio.com.au Hope that helps!
