Clint,

different PSU didn't help, though, interestingly, the IBM SCSI drive (the
one sounds like a cut price jet aircraft taking off) didn't power up till
SCSI BIOS came up.

after removing all (sound, lan, scsi) and trying IDE HD XP boot, it failed
with last driver showing 'agp440', either reboot, or lockup

changed AGP video to PCI video card,(initially gave no video on power
up?), same agp440 lockup

tried installing XP on IDE, ends in BSOD, either with PCI or AGP video card

so it seems video might be the culprit..?
