Android apps: Sygic Aura?

I'm new to Android, and, exploring street nav options;

google nav looks ok, but, dependent on cell provided maps

I'm interested in 'on device maps'

I see Sygic has promo on Aura,

any one uses or tried it, any comments appreciated

also, is there to way so see on Android how many satellites have been
acquired by in built GPS, rather than 'not working/working' ?
