replacing 2 pair with cat5 from MDF to ADSL benefits ?

I'm looking at 'fixing up' my phone wiring:

is running a cat5 cable instead of Telstra beige 2 pair from MDF to ADSL
phone socket of tangible performance benefit ? length is say about 8
metres

(at the moment, I have a mish mash of original Telstra wiring, patched to
secondary socket, then, phone extension cable to ADSL, I'm looking to
bypass all that with a brand new drop from MDF to ADSL (and, leave
original wiring for phone usage as is), then I thought, if I'm running
this new drop, perhaps blue cable is 'better idea' that a 2-pair telstra
cable)
