Yes, but can you subscribe to the list via rss in a feed reader?
Some people don't like lists.

I just meant an rss feed of events or announcements that are posted on  
the
website to be available in an rss feed so people can subscribe to them  
in a
feed reader.

Imagine slugs drupal as a blog of events and announcements, and the blog
has a feed.

I meant the rss feed and twitter account, not the events themselves.
