Meeting tonight. Usual time and place. Web site is down. If you need
information you can direct your browser to this address for directions,
etc.

The TriJUG web site has apparently been bitten by a spider and has
died. Our Java Server Pages include code that attempts to determine
the type of browser from which a request originates so it can attach
the best stylesheet for that browser. Our web host has provided us
with log entries that show that our browser-sniffer code throws an
exception when a request does not include the "user-agent" header
field. It seems we have been getting a large number of such requests
and, in combination with some sort of memory leak associated with the
exception, these browserless requests are crashing the server so they
have turned us off until we fix it. My theory about these requests is
that they come from a spider.

We will have the site back up as soon as possible. Sorry for the
inconvenience.

Lee Haslup,
President, TriJUG
