Chapel Hill-Nelson Highway Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (Google doesn't understand this address: see direction details below) Presentation summary: With the rise of "the cloud", the JBoss Cloud project aims to make using this new infrastructure easy. Come learn about the challenges and benefits faced in cloud-based deployments and how the JBoss Cloud project addresses them. A live demonstration will show how you can easily launch and scale clusters on Amazon EC2 using JBoss Cloud. Technologies we'll examine include JBoss AS5, JBoss mod_cluster, JGroups, and JBoss Cloud itself. About the Speaker: Bob McWhirter has been developing software for over a decade, moving from C++ to Java to Ruby. He's the founder of The Codehaus open-source community, the JBoss Drools business rule engine, and co-founder of the Groovy project. He is currently a member of the Research & Prototyping team at JBoss, and lives in rural Virginia among the cows and coyotes."
