Further to last email, I've added one more exception to changes permitted under 
verbatim copying:

This seems a logical consequence of embedding being classed as aggregation.

Also, by implication, I'm considering that the text "Retrieved from X
This page was last modified T" on the printable version is not considered to be part 
of the Document - just a message from the WikiMedia software - and therefore 
need not be included in order to make a verbatim copy. I would like to change the 
printable version to remove the need for that rather dubious interpretation, but that 
can be a separate email.
