To all users of Fink and Subversion on Mac OS X: As of Fink release 0.7.1 (released 2004-09-20) Subversion 1.0.6 is now available as a binary package (stable tree) for Mac OS X 10.3. Use the binary menu in FinkCommander to update your package descriptions and install or update your svn packages. If you are using fink from the command line type: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade (to upgrade all packages, or:) sudo apt-get install svn-client-ssl (to install/update the svn client) This will install a Subversion client and its dependencies as binary packages (nothing will be compiled). If you need version 1.0.7 it is available in the unstable tree. See <http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/usage-fink.php#unstable> on how to enable a package in unstable. Please be sure to provide feedback (also positive!) to the package maintainers of all unstable packages you are using so that they can be moved to the stable tree. Packages in the unstable tree are (not yet) available as binary packages. That means you will need to build the packages yourself using: fink selfupdate fink update svn-client-ssl (As a side note: Since all modules of the Subversion fink package will be built, you will be asked to install apache2 and other _build_ dependencies as well. Since they are all available as binary packages, you can install them beforehand using the binary update mechanism described above. These build dependencies can be removed again once the package is built.) For a list of all available Subversion packages in Fink have a look at: <http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/search.php?s=svn> For more information about upgrading your Fink installation read: <http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/users-guide/upgrade.php> If you want to try out version 1.1.0-rc3 you can download the .info and .patch files from <http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/fink/experimental/chris01/10.3/ crypto/finkinfo/> and install them as described at <http://fink.sourceforge.net/doc/quick-start-pkg/howtostart.php> Section 1.2. Please be sure to inform me about success/failures. Please contact me if you have any problems or questions regarding the Subversion packages for Fink.
