The package "emacsen-common” is present in my fink installation. An attempt to install “emacsen” [virtual package] asks me to pick a version to install (I chose emacs26), but that installation also failed, albeit with a different message. I provide the last details regarding emacs as supporting information only- it was my limited attempt to address the “No emacs found” error that appears to have crashed the installation.

(I used to maintain gnuplot, and at that time there was an emacs executable in the system—this test predates may involvement, though.)

Maybe try a different emacs version?
