configure failure compiling netcdf-c7-4.3.3.1-7

I attempted to install the package netcdf-c7 in order to get the netcdf
include files and libraries on my system.

My command was
fink install netcdf-c7

It failed, and left a message that i should run 'fink self-update' and
fink-configure to set the maximum number of build jobs to 1.  I did this,
and also ran 'fink update-all', at the request of 'fink self-update'.

Then i tried again, and failed again.

The latest transcript is about 357 lines long, and i think the problem
comes from these lines, which look like part of some configure output:
checking for library containing H5Fflush... no
configure: error: Can't find or link to the hdf5 library. Use
--disable-netcdf-4, or see config.log for errors.
