Sorry for the snark.  I spent a _long_ time getting those packages all
to build against 0.32.x, and I tested that _all_ of them extracted and
built.

The real point I should have made is that 0.32.x works with all of the
publicly accessible cases, and so any change to get_build_directory
won't have a testable impact on the existing packages.
