Dear John, Have you tried, e.g., /Applications/sw? I would assume users can still write to /Applications. There have been a few workarounds that I’d be happy to share, but I finally succeeded in getting both gcc8 & gmt5 built. However, with 10.15 there is a fundamental shift compared to all previous OS-X versions: the root filesystem (/) is read-only and will NOT allow /sw to be created. My testing thus far has used ~/sw, which is less than ideal (e.g., no bindist). My question is: is it possible to get Apple to create a ‘firmlink’ so that /sw is read-write? Has anyone come up with a more clever solution? Hoping I can help further the cause with 10.15… > > Cheers, > John L. > > _______________________________________________ > Fink-devel mailing list > [email protected] > List archive: > https://sourceforge.net/p/fink/mailman/fink-devel > Subscription management: > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-devel _______________________________________________ Fink-devel mailing list [email protected] List archive: https://sourceforge.net/p/fink/mailman/fink-devel Subscription management: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-devel
