Thanks for getting back to me. I think the main source of my problems was in a message that had scrolled offscreen when I tried a package today. Specifically, it directed me to a FAQ that said to mv /usr/local/include and /usr/local/lib while building things in Fink. That seems to have worked so far today.

 

Sorry about the image. My XQuartz xterm will not allow me to copy text (or paste for that matter).

Please don’t paste image files for bug reports here.  Fink is a text-based tool, and it’s easier to just select and copy text out of a terminal window and paste it than to take a screenshot.

 

Also, having multiple packages in the same bug report is confusing, unless they give literally the same error message, thus indicating the same root cause.  In the future, please send bug reports for individual packages and put the name of the package as the subject, as this makes it easier for other users and for us to find search results.

 

So we’ve got the following information from your post:

 

1) You’re on fink-0.45.3 on 10.13, with Xcode + Command Line Tools 10.1.  Thank you for providing this information.

 

2) Freetype219 is building against XQuartz’s libpng16 rather than Fink’s.  This was well-signposted in your message, so thanks for that.  This issue is definitely something that should be fixed, and might well be affecting other users.  I’ve changed the subject accordingly so that this is easier for the developers to find.  

 

3) We can’t help with your issue with libmpfr6-shlibs because there isn’t sufficient information to work with.  “Failed:  phase compiling:..” is the result of literally every possible failure that occurs in the compile phase.  The actual error can generally be found at the first instance of “error” or “failed” in the build output, and including a couple of lines before that helps with context.  Setting the build jobs equal to 1 makes sure that we aren’t seeing the output of multiple build threads simultaneously.
