Big Sur installation failure?

I just got a new laptop, and so I need to install fink all over again. It's not working on Big Sur. I managed to get around a couple of problems, but now I'm stuck at the following error message: Checking package... looks good (fink-0.45.3). Checking system... i386-apple-darwin20.6.0 11.5 does not match the expected value of 10.16. Please run `fink selfupdate` to download a newer version of fink at /Users/jblucher/fink-0.45.3/perlmod/Fink/Services.pm line 1369. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
