Fink is under git control: * https://github.com/fink/fink-distributions/ * https://github.com/fink/fink-distributions/tree/master/10.9-libcxx/stable/main/finkinfo/editors Patches are submitted via pull requests: https://github.com/fink/fink-distributions/wiki/Submitting-new-or-updated-packages Generally, we keep the same configure options when a new major version of a package gets made, but it is not required. That is up to the package maintainer as they think is the best option.
