Re: can't install package texlive-base-20240312-1

There does exist a version of texlive installed on my system. from a 
download from the TeX web site.

There is no error message in ptex.log:

it's first line reads:

> (utf8.euc) (TeX Live 2024/Fink 20240312-1) (INITEX)  1 NOV 2024 14:26
The last 2  lines are:
