glib2-dev package behind latest release

I'm taking the time to update BABL/GEGL/GIMP's packages, and GEGL has failed:

checking for GLIB - version >= 2.28.0... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed.

It appears our package is at 2.22.0, while the latest version is 2.36.2. Would anyone be interested in updating?
