The original first sentence is "...set your PATH environment variable (and some others)". In the Spanish version above, the parenthesis piece is missing. The bin/init sets PATH, but also sets pathnames in MANPATH, PERL5LIB, and variables (and actually also does other things that seem to be not documented here in the English).
