Those are standard warrnings for every GTK executable which have been showing up on OS X/macOS for nearly two decades now.<br> I'm going to assume that the "Cannot open display" line comes from the regular Terminal application and not xterm--the terminal from XQuartz--since you didn't specify and we can't read your mind or log in to your system.<br> If my assumption is correct, then you might try opening an xterm (by default it's available from a command shortcut in XQuartz, or you can run it as 'xterm' from the ordinary Terminal) and then attempt to run midori from that.
