so what happens when people still need it and neither happens?

do people need to fish it out of dark bowels of the internet or vcs history? because users remain

hell, i bet every fbsd version released also is running somewhere on this planet

i have a bit similar issue here. need to connect to sshd which is ssh1 and insecure in crypto too. it's in device nobody makes sw for anymore
i can only use static *old* dropbear version to get there now. it's super secure, nobody can get there except hackers
i never knew i needed to enable telnet (had option back then, but chose more security than 0)
options are super security or none at all

same situation happened with https more than a decade ago. now it's either new https or http

i mean i'm all for pentagon security but that's not how it works

i myself have objected to removal of grdc, pom, etc. but in fact they could be in ports as well
