I have tested both 14.3-RELEASE and 14.4-RELEASE.

14.3-RELEASE:
the EFI loader display is completely correct;
however, the boot hangs immediately after "Start 0xffffffff80381000 ...",
and the machine never reaches the installer.

14.4-RELEASE:
the display corruption appears (same kind of corruption as with 15.1
mini-memstick);
despite the corrupted display, the system continues booting normally and
reaches the installer, where I can blindly log as "root" and "poweroff" the
machine.

Therefore, the display regression seems to have appeared between 14.3 and 14.4.
If useful, I can perform additional tests to help narrow this down further.
