My previous post, searching for boot method. use memstick image file <https://lists.freebsd.org/archives/freebsd-arm/2025-June/004955.html> https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/ISO-IMAGES/14.3/ has: FreeBSD-14.3-RELEASE-arm64-aarch64-dvd1.iso.xz FreeBSD-14.3-RELEASE-arm64-aarch64-dvd1.iso and also (also with a "1.iso"): FreeBSD-14.3-RELEASE-arm64-aarch64-disc1.iso.xz FreeBSD-14.3-RELEASE-arm64-aarch64-disc1.iso https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/14.3/ has just (with a "1.iso"): FreeBSD-14.3-STABLE-arm64-aarch64-20250626-fad4064226b2-271785-disc1.iso.xz FreeBSD-14.3-STABLE-arm64-aarch64-20250626-fad4064226b2-271785-disc1.iso FreeBSD-14.3-STABLE-arm64-aarch64-20250619-ca5be69fb96d-271724-disc1.iso.xz FreeBSD-14.3-STABLE-arm64-aarch64-20250619-ca5be69fb96d-271724-disc1.iso So I do not see an arm64/aarch64 14.3-STABLE *-dvd1.iso* at all. Did you mean 14.3-RELEASE ? Vs.: Did you mean *-disk1.iso* ? Or, better: What was the specific file name involved? === Mark Millard marklmi at yahoo.com I did use 15.0-CURRENT memstick.img file and was able to boot that version for my needs for the Honeycomb machines.. I know am looking for method or procedure to boot a 15.0 memstick image file on the Ampere Altra B8UD-1L2T machines. I did try the 15.0 memstick file, and that did not work to boot FreeBSD. So how do you do this task of test booting small servers.? Glad to hear your chat in the evening. Do you have a written method or procedure to install FreeBSD 15.0-CURRENT to an ASROCK Ampere Altra D8UD-1L2T mini ITX server board? Maybe FreeBSD foundation has some PDF files or procedures for install FreeBSD 15.0 into this Ampere Altra board. Your suggestions. I did try to pull myself up by my boot straps, using Google and X.com/i/grok AI. Grok-3 answer <https://ghostbsd-arm64.blogspot.com/2025/07/learning-to-boot-asrock-ampere-altra.html> Fred L.
