It's unclear if it would.  In any case, I do not plan to participate in the GSoC program this year.  I'll be continuing to slowly work on it (other priorities at the moment).  We also have a co-op student (Minsoo Choo) that is interested in the area.

For the scheduler part at least, this is clearly a project requiring a lot of background/readings, design work and experiments.
