I want to be clear in this postchain: audio is working fine.  This is some
form of networking issue, AFAICT.  But to answer your question, I am able
to select my mic and speakers and it appears to be pulse-rust.

... but as datapoints, youtube is working fine ... and audio is fine...
even in discord (level meters deflect, etc)
