have a look at XkbLayout and XkbModel

first, i never used this driver packages before but i found the 
"without_linux" option inside Makefile.
i would give it a try to rebuild the /usr/ports/X11/nvidia-driver 
without linux compatibility

define that with make WITHOUT_LINUX=YES inside the port dir
