Should I use PORTEPOCH for the sake of "looking clean"?

Hi,
I am the maintainer of sysutils/vimpager, which is a text pager using vim.
I am using repology.org for a while because it is useful, but, in my maintainer information page, this port is seen as problematic because it has the "release date" on ${DISTVERSION} too. So, I am considering adding PORTEPOCH and removing the date to be able to "look clean" on repology.org. Do you think this is OK and/or worth it? Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Yusuf Yaman
