GitHub issue https://github.com/freebsd/drm-kmod/issues/209 seems stalled, as
the original reported there just vanished.

If people are still having this problem, the first thing to try, as mentioned
also in the GitHub issue, is to suspend and resume after having set sysctl
`kern.vt.suspendswitch` to 0.  If, after resume, hardware acceleration is still
on, then this bug would most probably be a duplicate of bug #271995, which
mentions a different GPU (Intel UHD Graphics 620 there, AMD RX 580 here) but
otherwise a similar scenario and where setting the sysctl actually makes a
difference.

If the problem still exists, trying with a recent release (e.g., 14.1) would be
a second step.
