BTW: reasons to use xxDOS even for WinXP (and probably any windows to come) a) salvage some files (to the network, using the MS CLIENT), you mentioned that b) try to do intelligent things with the help of a DOS diskeditor. c) burn a new BIOS d) run a Disk Image restore program, like PowerQuest's Disk Image, Symantecs Ghost, or tom ehlerts Drive Snapshot. tom
