Sorry, the "/dev/hda42" for DOS driver did not really exist...

Hi, I was wrong... the thing I had in mind was: http://dos.li5.org/downloads/rec.htm It searches for partitions and creates readonly drive letters for them. I mixed it up with another, maybe non existing, tool that allows you to access your raw disk / partition through a device that behaves like a file. If you find THAT tool, please tell me. It would allow to use a normal hex editor as disk editor and things like this :-) (unless the editor tries to load the entire file into RAM, uh-oh...). Eric
